Welcome Father Anthony Onu as Parochial Vicar to the Parish Network of St Madeleine Sophie, St Gabriel's, Our Lady Queen of Peace, and St Margaret of Cortona: Mission. Below is Father's Letter of Introduction:
Dear Parishioners,
Greetings in Christ! My name is Fr. Anthony Chibueze Onu, and I am honored to join this parish as your new Parochial Vicar. I am especially excited to be back with you, having spent last summer here. It is a privilege to embark on this journey with you and to serve our parish
community.
I was born in the Southeastern part of Nigeria and am proud to be of Igbo ethnicity. I came to the United States in 2017 and have been part of the Diocese of Albany since 2018. My formation included two years in Albany, during which I also pursued a master’s degree in Catholic
Philosophy. In 2020, I continued my theological studies at Mundelein Seminary in Illinois, graduating this past spring. By the grace of God, I was ordained to the Catholic priesthood in May of this year and was blessed to be assigned to this wonderful community.
As your Parochial Vicar, I am here to assist Fr. Jim in serving our parish. I am eager to learn and grow alongside you as a young priest. I look forward to meeting each of you and getting to know your stories as we journey together in faith. Please feel free to say hello anytime.
Thank you for welcoming me into your parish family. I am excited about the journey ahead and the opportunity to grow together in faith. May God bless you and keep you always.
In Christ,
Fr. Anthony Chibueze Onu

Give us the energy and courage
of Your Spirit
to shape its future
Grant us faith-filled leaders
who will embrace Christ's Mission
of love and justice.

Margaret of Cortona Mission
by raising up dedicated and generous leaders
from our families and friends
who will serve Your people as Sisters,
Priests, Brothers, Deacons and Lay Ministers.
Inspire us to know You better
and open our hearts
to hear Your call.
We ask this through our Lord. Amen
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!! Our very own Deacon Joseph Brennan has been appointed Diocesan Director of the Permanent Diaconate by Bishop Edward Scharfenberger [Effective January 6, 2020]. Daily Prayer for Priests ~St Therese of the Child Jesus
O Jesus, I pray for Your faithful and fervent priests;
For Your unfaithful and tepid priests;
For Your priests laboring at home or abroad in distant
mission fields.
for Your tempted priests;
for Your lonely and desolate priests
for Your young priests;
for Your dying priests;
for the souls of Your priests in Purgatory.
But above all, I recommend to You the priests dearest to me:
the priest who baptized me;
the priests who absolved me from my sins;
the priests at whose Masses I assisted and who gave me Your Body and Blood in Holy Communion;
the priests who taught and instructed me;
all the priests to whom I am indebted in any other way.
O Jesus, keep them all close to Your heart,
And bless them abundantly in time and in eternity. Amen.

Pilgrimage teaches you to rely more on God and on the hospitality of other people." -Fr. Stephen Yusko
ABOVE IS A SWEET MEMORY: Pilgrimage to the NYS Eucharistic Congress: Fr. Dan Quinn and Fr. Stephen Yusko led a group of the faithful on a 4-day, 3-night pilgrimage from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Albany to the Auriesville Shrine of the North American Martyrs. Along "The Way” pilgrims will encounter Christ anew as they make their way to the Eucharistic Congress, just as Christ encountered the disciples as they made their way to Emmaus, where He ultimately revealed Himself to them in the “breaking of the bread”.
