RCIA NOW CALLED OCIA

Are you interested in joining a universal Church that stretches around the globe, that has a vibrant sacramental system in which Jesus is present especially in His real Body and Blood in the Eucharist, that embraces people from every race, language and way of life, that is the largest provider of social and human services in the world? Then you are interested in becoming a Roman Catholic!  The parish welcomes those seeking fuller participation in the life of the Church.

Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) was previously called Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).  This is for those inquiring about becoming Catholic or wishing to complete one's sacraments.    Sacramental Preparation through the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA):

OCIA is offered for adults or older children seeking membership in the Roman Catholic Church. It is a process through which the individual explores the teachings of the church, of sacred scripture, and of life in the Christian community. The OCIA process also serves to prepare persons who either are baptized in other Christian traditions and now wish to embrace and profess the Roman Catholic faith or are baptized as Catholics, and now wish to celebrate their First Holy Communion and/or Confirmation. The sacraments are celebrated at the Easter Vigil.  For more information, contact: Deacon Joseph Brennan at 518 346-4926 .
